if you can't beat a stage and tried multiple times:.Use your mana to build up your defenses first. Don't destroy a beacon unless necessary, especially at the beginning of the battle.If you destroy a minor monster base, the monsters that would come out of it will be "redirected" to the main monster base.Monsters take more and more mana each time they reach your wizard towwer, so be careful with hordes of fast monsters.You can leech more mana from the slowed monster or have a greater chance of shocking/piercing it. Place a trap right next to an other one, place a slowing gem in the first trap and a mana gain/armor reduce/shocking gem in the second one.Place a trap near a group of towers and place a slowing gem in it, this way the monsters will have to crawl by the towers for a longer time, taking more shots.It's usually better to have more towers with somewhat weaker gems in them, than a few towers with stronger gems.Look at the range indicator (yellow circle) of the inserted gem to see how far it can shoot, and place it in a tower that can give it the longest path cover.Place your towers in positions where they can cover the longest path possible.It will have all 8 abilities (in a very small portion each though) and some bonuses to its basic values. If you have all 8 gem types available, you can create a prismatic gem.Try to avoid making gems containing more than two base colors.
If you combine two gems of different types, you get both specials but with a decreased power. Pure gems have the strongest special abilities.This can further be improved with the Dual gem mastery skill. Dual gems are superior to pure gems, they get larger bonuses to their damage, range, and firing speed.Well, you can sit and play a couple of rounds when you have the time and continue when it's comfortable for you. Long story short, GemCraft: Chapter 0 is here to suck you in its world for the long haul. Something For Achievement Freaks: So you are someone who can't play a game without trophies or achievements? Guess what: GemCraft Chapter Zero has a lot of those! There are truckloads of amulets to try - these are awarded for everything from defeating a certain number of monsters or using a certain skill to win a battle. Heck! It will even unlock new battle modes for each area! This means the game gives you much MORE than just trying to stay alive. When you gain a level, you can purchase a wide array of skills that will aid you in your next battle. NOT Your Usual Tower Defense Game: Now, before you dismiss GemCraft Chapter 0 as one of those average tower defense strategy games, get this: winning a battle now grants you experience and level. If it drops down to zero, it's game over for you. You need it to create defenses, beef up towers, etc. If an enemy creep reaches your base, your mana is damaged. You can see when the next one is coming by keeping an eye on the bar located on the left part of your screen. Things To Keep An Eye On: If you want to survive and move on to the next level, you better get those upgrades and gems working FAST! Nah, the next creep wave is NOT going to wait until you are ready. Right at the core of GemCraft, you will enjoy a very addictive and deceptively simple gameplay: (1) place magical gems on top of towers (2) let those towers and gems attack the monsters that arrive in waves and head to your base. It comes with a lot of tips and tricks explained throughout the game. HOWEVER, that is NOT necessary to play the game. What made GemCraft a HUGE hit though is its unbelievably addictive game play! If you have played GemCraft before, then that's good. Alright, that's not the most compelling story around and that is to be expected. so absorbed in his search for the fabled Gem of Eternity that his fellow wizards decided to cast him out.
